This had to be the most challenging of all the projects. When we first began this project we drew each other on a large piece of bond paper. Then we took measurements of ourselves and tried to be as accurate as possible. To do this we had to design our own caliper so that we could get the best measurements possible. The idea for my caliper came from an engineering caliper used mostly for small measurements, but worked just the same. To the right is a picture of typical measurements we needed to construct a full life-size mannequin.
After all of this was done, it was time to start brainstorming on how I was going to join the foamcore so that we wouldn't need any adhesive materials and to enhance the form and volume of our mannequin. To the left is the idea I came up with for an arm and leg joint. Some of the faults I had with this idea was the fact that it couldn't hold much weight, which proved insufficient for my knee joint.
